Unknown to most, LEATHER IS THE ULTIMATE RECYCLED PRODUCT. A by-product of the meat industry, wherein no animal loses its life for its skin, leather is the ultimate recycled product and puts far less demand on global resources that synthetic alternatives. If not for companies like CTL and others like us, hides would end up in landfills as a wasted material instead of being converted into a viable and useful material.

CTL’s commitment is that its leathers be produced in complete harmony and with respect to the Earth and our natural ecosystem. Partnered with some of the finest tanneries in the world, we insist that our leathers are produced with water based stable elements ensuring that our leathers are earth-smart and free from harmful chemicals.

From a corporate standpoint, our management is further committed to reducing our environmental footprint. This includes:

  • Materials reuse of where possible (pallets, package fillers, etc.)
  • Materials purchasing of 100% recycled products where possible (pallets, packaging, office supplies, etc.)
  • Recycling of waste materials
    • 100% recycling of all excess packaging and office waste
    • Recycling of all production materials (where local programs exist)
  • Committed to partnering with tanneries that:
    • Are environmentally responsible (no heavy metal and polluting agents)
    • Are focused on continuous improvement
    • Source from farms and countries that are respectful of animal welfare
    • Strive to exceed industry and local certification requirements
  • CTL Product Certification
    • Current products meet low-emission and flammability certifications
    • Current products have achieved Greenguard certification in Customer applications.
    • Additional certification of products when warranted by application (British Standard, Blue Angel, Greenguard, etc.)
